All Academy Team tryouts will be held in Broomfield at Broomfield Industrial Park (BIP)

When:

Saturday July 27th for 9-10’s from 9AM-12PM* and 11-12’s from 1PM-3PM*.
Sunday, July 28th for 13-14’s from 3PM-5PM.

(*Call backs possible for “bubble” players 9-12’s from 1PM-2:30PM Wednesday, July 31st)

If you miss tryouts on the weekend, make up is Wednesday, July 31st
6:30 PM – 8:30 PM at Thunder Academy Indoor Facility for all age groups. 
(Check-in and warm-up start at 6:00 PM)

All players must register before tryouts via button below. Tryout have a $100 deposit which will be credited to your player fees after an offer has been made. If we are unable to make an offer to your player, the fee will be refunded.

9U Academy Prospects

Speed and Agility Training – All Academy teams will participate in a speed and agility program (1 day per week for 1 month starting in January) lead by a certified trainer. Trainers will cover all areas of athletic improvement in a team building environment.                                                                             

Professionally Trained – Academy teams will be trained by Darron Cox, Tom Dedin Jr, and/or High school / Academy trained coaches. All coaches have been trained through Thunder Academy Coaches Training program.  Thunder Academy teaches hitting fundamentals that have been extremely successful at all levels for many years, which includes many Major League Hitters.

Academy Training – All Academy Prospect Players will go through the Progressive Hitting. This program will run from January through February.   Training program flexibility enabled with the approval of Darron Cox.

Thunder Academy Membership – All Academy Team members only will be allowed to hit off the iron mike pitching machines September – July.  The pitching machines provide extra hitting repetition for Academy players.

Tournaments – TCS and CABA tournament games will begin in March with the season lasting until the middle of July.  Each 9U team will play 5-6 tournaments, with each team playing 0-2 out of state tournaments. 

Indoor / Outdoor practices – There will be a total of 30-45 indoor and outdoor practices during the season.  Every opportunity to practice outside (starting in mid-March), along with leveraging the Thunder Academy indoor facility when weather doesn’t cooperate.  Practices start in January and finish in July with practices each month.

Uniform Package – Uniforms are included in the player fees and will include the following: 2 – Jerseys (1 red, 1 white), 1 – Pants, 1 – Pair of socks, 1 – Hat, 1 – Practice Shirt,1 – Practice Shorts, 1 – Belt.

Additional Uniform and Training items can be purchased at an additional cost – Additional hats, pants, practice shorts, bag and practice shirts will be available to order. 

Team Cost 9U ACADEMY PROSPECTS

Player fees – $1,125.00
Uniform Fee – $375.00

Tournament fees – (payable to team manager) – $400.00 due December 15, 2019

Uniform fee (payable to team manager) – $375 due October 1, 2019

Payment Options: Payment: Tryout deposit of $100.00, plus down payment of $400.00 within 24 hours of notification of roster spot and balance due on or prior to October 1, 2019 ($625.00). A credit card number will be kept on file.

Payment plan: Down Payment $500.00 24 hours after tryouts (9-year old’s) • Player Fees – $165.00/month from Sept. 1 – Dec. 1.  Processing fee will be spread out over the 4 monthly payments.

10U - 14U Academy Teams

Expectations at Tryouts – All players attending the tryouts and offered a position on a red or white academy team, should be committed to the Academy program. Thunder Academy is not for everyone, so if your player attends and makes a team, enjoy the opportunity. Players making the Academy teams will be contacted no later than August 1, 2019.

Arm Strengthening Program – Academy Players (12-14) will go through Thunder Academy Arm Strengthening Program. This will be a 4-month program that will be run in conjunction with the Progressive throwing program.

The Uniform package will be $450.00 per player 9U-14U and will include the following: 2 – Jerseys (1 red, 1 white), 2 – Pants, 1 – Pair of socks, 1 – Hat, 1 – Bag, 1 – Practice Shirt,1 – Practice Shorts, 1 – Belt, and 1- Long sleeve pullover.

Additional Uniform and Training items can be purchased at an additional cost – Additional hats, pants, practice shorts, and practice shirts will be available to order. 

Thunder Academy Program Pricing Details  

Team Cost 12U – 14U

Player fees – $2,400.00
Uniform fees – $450.00 (payable to team manager)
Tournament fees – $650.00* (payable to team manager)

Payment: Tryout deposit of $100.00, plus down payment of $400.00 within 24 hours of notification of roster spot and balance due on or prior to October 1, 2019 ($1,900.00). A credit card number will be kept on file.

• Uniform Fees – $450.00 is due October 1, 2019 and paid to team manager.  

• Tournament Fees – $650.00 is paid directly to team manager in Dec 2019/Jan 2020. *Academy Red 12’s teams will get an automatic invitation to Cooperstown Dreams Park and additional fees will be collected by the team manager.
